Typical 1/2 cup mung dhal for two.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup mung beans
1 tbs cumin seed
1/2 tbs mustard seed
1/2 large onion, diced
1 tbs garlic, minced
1/2 tbs ginger, minced
1/2 tsp red pepper
1/2 tbs salt
2 tbs olive oil
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
1 1/2 cups rice
Directions:
1. Pressure cook the mung dhal
2. Heal the oil then add cumin and mustard seed and try until they pop
3. Add the onion and fry until translucent
4. Add the garlic, ginger, and chili and fry for 2 minutes
5. Add the fried preperation to the mung dhal
6. Add salt and spices to taste
7. Heat and serve with cooked basmati rice
