Mulled Cranberry-Guava Toddies

This warm beverage is just as good without adding the rum. Guava nectar has a sweet, strawberry-banana-pineapple flavor and is available in the ethnic section of most supermarkets (and sometimes with the fruit juices, as well). Float an orange slice in each mug for a pretty presentation.
Ingredients:
3 quarts cranberry juice cocktail
1/4 cup sliced peeled fresh ginger
2 teaspoons whole cloves
16 (1/4-inch-thick) slices orange (about 4 oranges)
1 (12-ounce) can guava nectar
2 cups dark rum
Directions:
1. Combine first 5 ingredients in a large saucepan; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes. Discard ginger and cloves. Stir in rum.
