Mulled Cider

A nice drink for those cool days. We like to serve this in the fall and around Christmas time.
Ingredients:
1 quart cranberry juice
1/2 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1 orange peel
1 lemon peel
1 cinnamon stick
6 whole cloves
6 allspice berries
1 quart apple cider
lemon slice, studded with
whole cloves
Directions:
1. In a large non-aluminum saucepan, combine cranberry juice, sugar, peels and spices. Bring to boil, lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
2. Strain and return liquid to saucepan. Stir in cider and reheat but do not boil.
3. Ladle in heatproof cups and serve topped with lemon slices.
