A non-alcoholic alternative to mulled wine, suitable to serving to young people or to drivers or others who either cannot or should not consume alcohol or at occasions or places where it would be inappropriate to serve alcohol.
Ingredients:
1 pint pure apple juice
1 pint water
jest and juice of 1 lemon
jest of 1 orange
half teaspoon allspice
half teaspoon powdered cinnamon
1 teaspoon powdered ginger or 1 inch grated root ginger
3-4 cloves
variations
grape or pear juice instead of apple
different mixture of spices
add pieces of fruit

use prepared mulled wine bags instead of mixing spices and jest
Directions:
1. Mix the apple and lemon juices and the water
2. Add the jest, cloves and spices
3. Bring to the boil and simmer for 3-4 minutes
4. Pour into jug and serve
5. ALTERNATIVE METHOD
6. Boil the juices, jest, cloves and spices in jug in microwave and the water separately in kettle and mix afterwards
