Chocolate, of course.
Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup oleo
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup water
3 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vinegar
1/2 cup oleo
1/3 cup milk
1 dash salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
4 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup nuts, chopped (optional)
Directions:
1. Sift and set aside: sugar, flour, baking soda, and salt.
2. Bring to boil: 1/2 cup oleo, shortening, water, and 3 1/2 T cocoa.
3. Add to dry ingredients and beat well.
4. Add vanilla, 1/2 cup milk, and vinegar.
5. Bake at 400* 20 minutes in greased cookie sheet.
6. While baking, beat together frosting ingredients.
7. Spread frosting on cake while it is still hot.
