Mrs Cobb's Meatloaf

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 tbsp brown sugar , packed
  • 1/2 can cranberry sauce (mrs cobb's secret ingredient)
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp finely chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp ground thyme
  • 1/8 tsp sage
  • 1 dash nutmeg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Stir brown sugar and cranberry sauce together until smooth.
  3. Place in bottom of 9 x 5 loaf pan.
  4. In a bowl, combine eggs, onion, milk, thyme, sage, nutmeg, salt and pepper.
  5. Stir in bread crumbs.
  6. Add ground beef and mix thoroughly.
  7. Shape into a loaf and place on top of cranberry mixture.
  8. Flatten top so loaf will sit level when inverted.
  9. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  10. Let stand 10 minutes and invert on plate to serve.
