i make a whole mess of these & freeze them so we can have them anytime! there will be extra coating but i like to use that as a coating for chicken! i just dip the chicken in some egg then in the coating & bake it at 375 for 30 minutes or until it's done. you can also bake them at 375 degrees but they don't typically keep their shape as well that way.
Ingredients:
1 egg
1 1/2 cups italian seasoned breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons kraft parmesan cheese (grated)
1 (12 ounce) package mozzarella string cheese
Directions:
1. In a bowl, beat egg until frothy. In another bowl, combine bread crumbs and parmesan.
2. Cut each cheese stick in half (package contains 12 sticks, should have 24 sticks after slicing). Coat sticks in egg, then in bread crumb mixture. Repeat (you want the sticks to be well coated). After sticks are coated, place in freezer for 2 hours. (Double coating helps them keep their shape.).
3. Heat deep fryer to 375 degrees. Put mozzarella sticks in deep fryer for about 4 minutes (watch closely so the sticks don't burn). Serve with your favorite dipping sauce - ranch, marinara, or barbecue!
