Moroccan Chicken (Slow Cooker)

This is a great recipe. It can be made in the oven as well.
Ingredients:
8 chicken thighs
salt
ground black pepper
1/4 cup olive oil
6 cups thinly sliced onions
1 tablespoon minced garlic
2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
2 tablespoons honey
1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon saffron
1/2 cup slivered almonds
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients in Crock pot. Cook on low for 8 hours
2. Serve over couscous.
