This is mom's coleslaw recipe. She is always asked to make the slaw at every family function because she makes the best. As a special note, I believe that the fine-ness of the shredding of the cabbage & carrots really can change the turnout of the coleslaw. My family really likes it finely shredded. Others may like it shredded much more course.
Ingredients:
2 lbs heads of cabbage, shredded (medium size)
1 large carrot, shredded
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 cup mayonnaise
Directions:
1. Finely shred the cabbage and carrot.
2. Add all other ingredients and mix throughly.
3. Refridgerate.
