Mom's Pickled Eggs

Can't have Easter without them...
Ingredients:
1 bunch beet
12 eggs
1 garlic clove (minced)
2 onions (sliced thin)
2 cups white vinegar
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh cracked pepper
1 cinnamon stick
Directions:
1. Boil beets until tender.
2. Hard boil eggs.
3. Let both cool.
4. Peel.
5. Slice beets.
6. Place in a bowl with the eggs, garlic and onions.
7. Bring the vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper and cinnamon to a boil.
8. Pour over egg mix.
9. Let cool. Cover. Chill at least 72 hours.
