Mom's Pan Brownies

One of my favorite recipes.
Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
8 tablespoons cocoa
1 cup flour, sifted
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup pecans or 1 cup walnuts, chopped
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cream butter with sugar in a mixing bowl with hand mixer. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each addition. Add cocoa. Blend well. Add flour, salt, and baking powder. Fold in nuts and vanilla extract. Pour into a greased 13-by-9-inch baking pan. Bake 28-32 minutes, or until top is crusty and brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the pan. Cool. Cut into squares.
