Yikes! 12 grams of fat! But YUMMY!!!
Ingredients:
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 1/2 cups skim milk
1/4 cup flour
2 tablespoons light butter
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp paprika
1/2 cup fat free ricotta cheese
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
12 ounces whole wheat pasta
4 slices american cheese
1/4 cup bread crumbs
Directions:
1. Prepare pasta and set aside. Use Smart Taste whole grain to save calories and fat. I couldn't make the recipe work.
2. melt 1 tbl light butter.
3. add cold milk and flour, bring to boil, stir with a fork the whole time, till bubbly and thick. Remove from heat. add salt, pepper and paprika, stir. Return to warm, but turned off burner
4. add cheese and stir till melted and smooth, turning heat to low, if needed.
5. Meanwhile melt 1 tbl butter with 1/4 cup bread crumbes, and top each serving with a portion of the mix.
