Mom's Bran Muffins

So good especially right out of the oven!
Ingredients:
1 (16 ounce) box all-bran cereal
2 1/4 cups sugar
1 cup crisco
4 eggs
1 quart buttermilk
5 cups flour
1 tablespoon salt
5 teaspoons baking soda
Directions:
1. Pour 2 cups water over 2 cups bran cereal. Set aside.
2. Cream 2 1/4 cups sugar and 1 cup crisco.
3. Add 4 eggs, 1 quart of buttermilk and wet bran mixture.
4. Add 5 cups flour, 1 tbl salt, 5 tsp baking soda.
5. Mix well and then add remaining bran.
6. Bake at 375 for 18-20 minutes.
7. Can be strored in fridge for up to one month.
