Moms Best Banana Bread

I thought I better post this recipe as I am often asked for it-Very moist and yummy!
Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1/4 cup applesauce
1 cup over ripe mashed banana
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup walnuts
Directions:
1. cream together butter and sugar. Beat in one egg at a time. Mix in vanilla, mashed banana, applesauce and buttermilk.
2. In another bowl, sift together dry ingredients, then stir into banana mixture until just moistened. Stir in nuts if desired. (Do not beat or over stir).
3. Pour into greased loaf pan.
4. Bake in preheated oven at 350 for Approximately1 hour (ovens vary so check after 50 min)
5. Remove from oven, let cool 5 minute then remove from pan.
6. Cool on wire rack.
