Mom's Apple Crisp

I've always loved mom's Apple Crisp, lots of crispy topping and cinnamon, we've always eaten it with a slice or two of cheddar.
Ingredients:
12 apples, peeled, cores out and sliced
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 cup flour
2/3 cup soft butter or 2/3 cup margarine
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 cups quaker oats
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. To prepare bottom: place apples, white sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon in a large bowl and mix thouroughly, pour into a greased 9 x 13 baking pan.
3. To prepare topping:.
4. Place flour and butter in mixing bowl and use a potato masher and mash until mixture resembles bread crumbs.
5. Add remaining ingredients (brown sugar, rolled oats, and cinnamon) and rub all ingredients are well mixed.
6. Press topping onto apple mixture and bake at 350 until apples are tender and topping is brown (check at about 30 mins).
