I've checked the other pizzelle recipes, and all though they are all quite similar, mine is not quite as sweet. The title says Mom Molinatt's Pizzelles, but it came from my grandmas cookbook, so this recipe was from my great grandma. I grew up on these, and my mom and I still make them every Christmas and a few times inbetween. There is no cooking time listed in this recipe, because you just have to play with the time according to how you like them and how your pizzelle iron works. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 dozen egg
2 cups oleo, melted (crisco)
1 1/2 cups sugar
8 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon anise oil or 1 tablespoon extract
2 tablespoons anise seed
Directions:
1. Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder, set aside.
2. Mix eggs, sugar, oleo, extract (or oil) and seed.
3. Add flour mixture to egg mixture a little at a time.
4. Mix well, if too sticky add a little more flour.
5. Drop on hot pizzelle iron and cook until golden.
