Molasses Whoopie Pies

These always go well at bake sales. Great for brownbag lunches.
Ingredients:
2 3/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
2/3 cup molasses
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
3 cups confectioners' sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
2 -3 tablespoons milk
1/4 cup molasses
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 F degrees.
2. Cookie: Cream butter, sugar and eggs until fluffy.
3. Add molasses and milk.
4. blend well.
5. Mix in sifted dry ingredients.
6. Chill for 2 hours in fridge.
7. Drop by tbls.
8. unto greased cookie sheet.
9. Bake 10 minutes.
10. Remove and cool on racks.
11. Filling: Whip butter and sugar until fluffy.
12. Slowly add milk/molasses and incorporate.
13. Add spice and beat well.
14. Use as filling between two cookies.
