Milk Chocolate Filling

Creamy milk choclate pudding filling for layered cakes.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups full-fat milk
1/2 cup sugar
3 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
5 large egg yolks
6 oz milk chocolate, chopped
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Combine sugar and cornstarch in a large bowl.
2. Beat eggs yolks into sugar mixture.
3. Bring milk to a simmer in medium saucepan. Remove from heat.
4. Gradually whisk hot milk into yolk mixture. Return mixture to sauce pan.
5. Whisk over medium heat.
6. Add chocolate, butter, and vanilla. Whisk until mixture is smooth.
7. Transfer filling to medium bowl. Cool, stirring occasionally.
8. Gently press plastic wrap directly onto surface. Cover and chill until cold.
9. Top prepared cake with filling. Cover with second prepared layer.
