Miel De Nuez (Mexican Honey-Nut Syrup)

I haven't made this myself, but I've eaten it on sopaipillas before, and it's lovely. I would imagine it would be delicious on any type of fried pastry, or even on ice cream or pancakes. From Mexican Desserts and Drinks.
Ingredients:
1 cup honey
1/4 cup butter
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (fresh ground is best)
1/2 cup almonds, finely chopped
Directions:
1. Combine honey, butter and spices in a small saucepan, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes more.
2. Remove from heat, and allow to cool slightly.
3. Add nuts, and mix well.
