A quick, simple low-fat granola base just waiting for you to add your own selection of nuts, dried fruit and even chocolate.
Ingredients:
2 cups old-fashioned or quick-cooking oatmeal
2-4 t brown sugar
1 t vegetable oil
1/4 c wheat germ (opt)
1 tsp cinnamon or to taste
nuts of your choice
minced dried fruit of your choice
chocolate pieces if desired
Directions:
1. Mix together oatmeal, brown sugar, oil, wheat germ, and cinnamon.
2. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Stir.
3. Microwave on high 1/1/2-2 minutes longer. Cool.
4. Add desired ingredients, cover and store in airtight container.
