I love Oatmeal cookies and these are the best ever. I have tried every recipe around and this one is by far the BEST. I met a lady at my sons baseball game who was in search for the perfect oatmeal cookie and was having the hardest time finding a good recipe. Read more . Well I gave her mine and she came back the next game with a container full of the cookies and was so thrilled about them!
Ingredients:
3 eggs,wellbeaten
1 cup raisins
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup butter flavored crisco
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp soda
1 tsp cinnamon
2 cups old fashioned oats
1 cups nuts( optional)
Directions:
1. Combine eggs, raisins and vanilla in a bowl and let stand 1 hour(this step is what makes these cookies the best)
2. Cream the crisco, brown sugar and white sugar.
3. Add slowly the flour, salt, soda and cinnamon. Mix well.
4. Add the egg raisin and vanilla mixture. Mix.
5. Add the oats and nuts. Dough will be stiff.
6. Roll in to balls .
7. Roll in white sugar(do this step,it makes it so good)
8. Put on cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes.
