authentic mexican rice
Ingredients:
1 cup long grain white rice
2 cups water
1 can tomato sauce
1 garlic clove (small)
2 tbsp knorr chicken bouillon
3 tbsp vegetable oil
2 slices of onion
(optional: frozen peas and carrots)
Directions:
1. heat cooking oil in sauce pan on med high heat then add rice stir and saute till rice is white then add garlic clove and sliced onion. once rice is no longer translucent and is white add the whole can of tomato sauce, chicken bouillon and water. stir slowly cover and simmer on med low heat for aprox 40 to 45 min until rice is cooked. if you are adding peas and carrots add them when adding the water.
