Tasty Mexican-style layered salad.
Ingredients:
4c torn romaine
1 lg. cucumber,peeled,halved and sliced
3 medium tomatoes,chopped
2 medium ripe avocados,peeled and sliced
2 lg. green peppers,chopped
11/2c mayonaisse
1/4c canned chopped green chilies
2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1c crushed tortilla chips
1/2c shredded cheddar cheese
Directions:
1. In 2 -qt. trifle bowl or glass serving bowl,layer first five ingredients. Combine the mayonnaise,chilies and seasonings;spread over the top. Sprinkle with cheese and chips. Serve immediately.
