Mexican Corn Bread

This is a great alternative to plain cornbread.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup corn meal; self-rising
1/2 cup corn meal
1 tablespoon sugar
1 small jar cream corn
1 small jar pimentoes
2 each jalapeno peppers; chopped
1 onion; chopped
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup veg. oil
3 eggs
Directions:
1. Heat oven 450^F.
2. Heat cast iron skillet in oven.
3. Coat skillet well with shortening.
4. Mix all ingredients and pour 1/2-inch thick in skillet.
5. Bake until browned.
