Mennonite Corn Fritters

Ok - my heritage has been revealed. :) These are simply wonderful. A favorite among our community, they're sure to bring a smile to your face. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 cups fresh corn or 2 cups canned corn (creamed or kernel)
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons cream
4 tablespoons fat (butter, oil or margarine)
Directions:
1. Combine eggs, flour, baking powder, salt& pepper with the corn.
2. Mix thoroughly.
3. Add cream to mixture.
4. Melt fat in frying pan& drop corn mixture by spoonfuls into the hot fat.
5. Brown on both sides.
6. Serve w/ syrup.
7. (pancake/waffle syrup).
