Memphis Glazed Pears In Red Currant Jelly

These pears are beautiful and delicious. They can be served on the same platter with meat and poultry or can be used as a side. Served hot or cold. Beautiful presentation, especially for the holidays.
Ingredients:
10 ounces red currant jelly
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 large can bartlett pears, drained
Directions:
1. Melt jelly in saucepan
2. Add almond extract
3. Place drained pears in jelly
4. Simmer 20 minutes
5. Serve hot or cold
6. Suggestions for serving:
7. Beautiful served cold and filled with whipped cream cheese, toasted almonds, and a little grated lemon zest then arranged on a bed of pretty lettuce (other than Iceberg)
8. Beautiful served cold in a clear bowl
9. Beautiful surrounding a large piece of meat or poultry
