Melon with Lavender Syrup

Nice in the morning as well as after dinner.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup sweet dessert wine
2 tablespoons orange juice
1/4 cup lavender flowers, fresh or dried
1 large ripe melon, cut into cubes
Directions:
1. Bring water, sugar, wine and orange juice to a boil.
2. reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes, stirring to dissolve sugar.
3. Add flowers.
4. Cover and steep for 1 hour.
5. Strain flowers.
6. To serve, pour syrup over melon.
7. Garnish with mint and lavender sprigs.
