Medjool Dates Stuffed With Spiced Mascarpone

I made these for a wine tasting today at a local winery. Perfect for when it's too hot to bake and you just want a little sweet treat.
Ingredients:
spice mix
2 teaspoons chinese five spice
2 teaspoons mild curry powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
pinch of ground cayenne
spiced marscapone
8 oz mascarpone cheese
honey, to taste
1 tablespoon spice mix
1 tablespoon heavy cream
2 pounds medjool dates, halved and pitted
Directions:

2. In a small pan, toast the spices until fragrant.
3. Spiced Marscapone:
4. Combine the ingredients and beat the Mascarpone until it is slightly thickened and lightly peaked. Using a pastry bag (or you can cut one corner of a plastic sandwich bag), pipe the cheese into the halved and pitted dates. I garnished mine with honey roasted almonds.
5. Note: the cheese mixture can be made up to two days ahead, but should not be piped into the dates until the day they will be served.
