A family favorite creating by taking our favorite parts of other recipies and putting them togeter to make a meat a loaf all our own....
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
1/2 onion, diced
1 green pepper, diced
1/4 cup french-fried onions
2 eggs
3 slices bread, torn
1/4 teaspoon garlic
1/4 teaspoon thyme
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat and saute peppers and onions unti just soft. Remove to a plate to cool.
2. Create the glaze in it's own bowl. Combine kethcup, honey, and worcetershire sauce.
3. In a seperate bowl, beat eggs and add torn bread. Let stand for 5 minutes. Stir in pepper, onions, fried onions, worcestershire sauce, and seasonings. Crumble meat over mixture and combine. Pack mixture into a well greased loaf pan. Lightly dust half of the glaze over loaf.
4. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Spoon the rest of the glaze over the loaf. Bake for another 10-20 miutes or until a meat thermometer reads 160 degrees. Let stand another 10 minutes before slicing. (If you desire you can sprinkle some more crispy fried onions over loaf before serving.).
