3/4 pound ground round
1/4 cup minced onion
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
2 tablespoons dry breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons 1% low-fat milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 garlic clove, minced
cooking spray
2 cups low-fat three-cheese pasta sauce (such as sutter home)
4 (2 1/2-ounce) hoagie rolls (such as cobblestone mills), unsliced
2 tablespoons finely chopped red onion
1/2 cup (2 ounces) pre-shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°.
2. Combine first 8 ingredients in a bowl. Shape into 24 meatballs.
3. Arrange meatballs evenly on a jelly-roll pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes or until done. Turn oven up to 450°.
