Easy delicious fat-free biscuits. The first set of ingredients is for a recipe I found on the Internet. The one below it is my own concoction. The instructions are the same for both recipes. Both recipes can be served under peppered buttermilk gravy. Read more . This is a great Southern recipe for breakfast!
Ingredients:
2 cups self-rising flour
6 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon sugar
2 cups unbleached white flour
2 heaping teaspoons of baking powder
scant 1/2 tsp. crazy jane's mixed-up salt
1/4 tsp. crazy jane's mixed-up pepper
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 cup skim milk
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients gently in a bowl, just until mixed.
2. Roll out on a floured board and cut into biscuits.
3. Spray a pan with baking spray, or lightly oil it.
4. Place the biscuits on the pan and bake in a 450 degree oven 10-12 minutes.
5. You can also pour the batter into a square glass pan, bake it, and then slice it to serve.
