Crab Imperial is one of the best dishes going...such a classic! And it makes a wonderful stuffing for fish fillets, and lobster tail, too. Takes me back to my MD days and the wonderful Maryland Inn in Annapolis! Read more ! This is the Maryland Inn's recipe.
Ingredients:
1 pound jumbo lump crabmeat
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 t. pimiento, chopped
1 t. dry sherry
1 t. fresh lemon juice
1/2 t. old bay
1/4 t. dry mustard
1/4 t. celery salt
1/4 t. worcestershire sauce
1/4 t. freshly ground white pepper (or black)
2 egg yolks
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 t. fresh lemon juice
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. Butter 4 scallop shells or small ramekins. Combine first 11 ingredients in bowl. Gently mix. Diide mixture among prepared shells. Bake 15 minutes to heat through. Remove from oven.
2. Preheat broiler. Whisk yolks, 1/4 cup mayo and lemon juice to blend. Spread over top of crab. Browl 6 from heat until beautifully browned. Serve immediately
