Another Chinese recipe from a cookbook given to me by my Dad 42 years ago.
Ingredients:
8 eggs
2 tablespoons chinese black tea
2 star anise
3 tablespoons soy sauce
4 teaspoons salt
4 cups boiling water
Directions:
1. Boil eggs for 10 minutes. Soak eggs in cold water until cold. Crack egg shells- Do Not Shell; set aside while preparing sauce. Pour boiling water into Chinese black tea; let stand for 5 minutes. Pour tea into a saucepan (straining out tea leaves); add soy sauce, star aniseeds and salt to tea;add eggs and boil in mixture for 20 minutes. Remove shells. Serve cold.
