This is a delicious recipe for pork chops with a maple sauce. Ingredients:
6 thick cut pork chops |
2 tablespoons olive oil |
1 large yellow onion, finely chopped |
2 garlic cloves |
1/4 cup real maple syrup |
1/4 cup whole grain mustard |
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar |
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
1 pinch chili powder |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375. 2. Add half of the olive oil to a large oven safe pan. Quickly sear the pork chops till they are just browned on each side and remove them and set aside in a baking pan. 9x13 works well. 3. Add remaining oil and saute onion and garlic until onions are transparent being careful not to burn the garlic. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer. let simmer for 5 - 6 minutes. Pour sauce over pork chops in the baking pan and cover. Cook for 35 - 45 minutes basting occasionally. uncover and cook 10 more minutes. 4. Use a corn starch slurry to thicken sauce if desired. |
