Maple Pecan Thumbprints

I love maple flavor and these sounded really good. The thumbprint cookies that I usually make have raspberry jam. these are so different.
Ingredients:
1 cup land o lakes® butter, softened
2/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups finely chopped pecans
1 egg white, slightly beaten
frosting
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons land o lakes® butter, softened
2 tablespoons land o lakes® traditional or fat free half & half
3/4 teaspoon maple extract
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375°F.
2. Combine 1 cup butter, sugar and vanilla in large bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy.
3. Reduce speed to low; add flour and salt. Beat until mixture forms a dough.
4. Place pecans in small bowl.
5. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into 1-inch balls.
6. Dip each ball in beaten egg white; roll in pecans.
7. Place 1 inch apart onto greased cookie sheets.
8. Make indentation in center of each cookie with thumb or back of teaspoon.
9. Bake for 11 to 13 minutes or until very lightly browned and set. Cool completely.
10. Combine powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons butter, half & half and maple extract in small bowl.
11. Beat at low speed until smooth.
12. Fill center of each cooled cookie with 1/2 teaspoon frosting.
