MADRID PEACHES This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Moody Estate in Mesquite, Texas in 1990. Ingredients:
1 quart peach halves |
3 tablespoons dark brown sugar |
2 tablespoons lime juice |
1/4 cup dry sherry |
1 tablespoon grated lime peel |
Directions:
1. Peel and halve peaches capturing approximately 1/2 cup juice. 2. In small saucepan over medium heat cook reserved syrup, sugar and lime juice for 5 minutes. 3. Stir in sherry. 4. Meanwhile place peach halves flat side down in dish. 5. Pour syrup over them and sprinkle with lime peel then refrigerate until serving time. |
