Macaroni Beef Casserole

This is a nice, quick meal to put together. I don't always add the green pepper.
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green pepper (optional)
3 cups uncooked elbow macaroni (or similar shaped pasta)
28 ounces crushed tomatoes
14 3/4 ounces cream-style corn
1/2 cup half-and-half or 1/2 cup evaporated milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
3/4-1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon parsley
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Directions:
1. Brown ground beef in skillet with onion and green pepper; drain.
2. Meanwhile, cook macaroni according to package directions; drain.
3. In a large bowl or pot, combine drained beef mixture and drained noodles. Stir in crushed tomatoes, creamed corn, half and half, 1 cup of the cheese, and spices. Mix well.
4. Pour into lightly greased/sprayed 13 x 9 inch glass baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining 1 cup of cheese.
5. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes.
