My recipe for Macaroni and Hamburger. Add more or less red pepper flakes, according to your liking. I also use 1 can of mexican tomatoes with green chilies and the other can is stewed tomatoes with jalapenos. We like it hot! Weight watcher points = 6 per serving.
Ingredients:
2 pounds ground sirloin
1 green pepper, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
28 ounce tomato sauce
30 ounce tomatoes, diced
16 ounce shell macaroni
3 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
4 ounce mushrooms
2 cups water
Directions:
1. Cook macaroni according to package directions, drain well.
2. Brown the ground chuck along with the onions and green pepper. Drain well and put back into a large stock pot.
3. Add the tomato sauce, 2 cans of tomatoes, seasonings and water.
4. Add the mushrooms and shell macaroni. Simmer for 1/2 hour. Taste and adjust as needed.
