Low Cal Bran Muffins

I leaned down my favorite bran recipe, because I love them but do like to watch my weight...if I'm gonna have calories, it'll be chocolate!
Ingredients:
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. bkg. soda
1/4 c. butter, melted
1/4 c. applesauce (i use fruit flavored)
1/4 c. splenda brown sugar blend (or 1/2 c. brown sugar)
1/4 c. molasses
1 egg (or 1/4 c. egg beaters)
1 c. natural bran
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. craisins, 1 c. fresh blueberries
1/2 - 1 tsp. cinnamon, to taste
Directions:
1. Soak bran in buttermilk mixed with baking soda. Set aside.
2. Mix butter with applesauce, beat in sugar, molasses and egg.
3. Add in Bran mixture, stir in flour, salt, baking powder and cinnamon. Fold in
4. Berries.
5. Use an ice cream scoop to evenly divide between 10 muffin cups.
6. Bake at 375 for 20 min, or until browned and set.
7. I will sometimes use frozen berries, of a mixture of different berries. For a different texture, I'll stir in chopped toasted walnuts...but that increases the calories!
