Lots of Tomatoes Beef Stew

Other than tomatoes, carrots, onions, and celery round out this nice seasoned stew.
Ingredients:
2 lbs extra-lean beef stew meat, trimmed of fat
5 -6 carrots, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 large onion, cut in chunks
3 celery ribs, sliced
6 medium tomatoes, cut up and gently mashed
1/2 cup cups quick-cooking tapioca
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
2 bay leaves
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
4 potatoes, cubed
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients in a slow cooker, and mix together well.
2. Cover, and cook on high 5 1/2- 6 hours.
3. If juices are too thin, add 2-3 tablespoons instant mashed potatoes.
