Ingredients:
1 cup(s) cola
0.25 cup(s) red wine vinegar
0.5 small white onion grated
course salt and ground pepper
0.25 cup(s) safflower oil
6 pound(s) london broil
Directions:
1. Combine cola, vinegar, onion,
2. garlic, 1 teaspoon pepper, and
3. the oil in a bowl. Place steak in a
4. large resealable plastic bag, and
5. pour marinade over steak. Seal
6. bag, pressing out excess air. Refrigerate
7. at least 8 hours.
8. Let steak (in bag) stand at
9. room temperature 1 hour. Remove
10. steak from marinade, and
11. discard marinade. Brush off
12. any remaining onion and garlic
13. from steak to prevent burning,
14. and season with 1 tablespoon salt
15. and 1 teaspoon pepper.
16. Meanwhile, preheat grill to
17. medium-high, and brush
18. grates with oil. Grill steak until
19. internal temperature reaches
20. ° for medium-rare (residual
21. heat will continue to cook meat),
22. to 11 minutes per side.
23. Transfer steak to a cutting board,
24. and let rest, tented with foil, at least 15 minutes and up to one hour. Very thinly slice steak against the grain, and serve warm or at room temperature.
