This is my Mother's recipe for a delicious fruit salad that is not overly sweet. She makes it often, but usually in the summer because then it is light and refreshing.
Ingredients:
1 pint whipping cream
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 (20 ounce) can fruit cocktail
3 bananas, sliced
nuts (optional)
Directions:
1. Whip the cream with an electric mixer until stiff.
2. Add sugar and vanilla.
3. Fold in fruit cocktail, bananas, and nuts.
4. Chill for at least two hours.
