Linda's Buttermilk Cake

Ingredients:
2 cups sifted cake flour
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped nuts (pecans and black walnuts)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup salad oil
1 cup buttermilk
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup buttermilk
3/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup butter
Directions:
1. Sift a little flour over raisins and nuts.
2. Combine rest of flour with other dry ingredients in mixing bowl.
3. Add salad oil, buttermilk, eggs and sugar, beat until smooth.
4. Stir in nuts and raisins.
5. Pour into floured and greased tube pan.
6. Bake at 350F for 1 hour.
7. Topping: Combine ingredients.
8. Heat untill bubbly.
9. Pour over hot cake right from the oven and do not remove from pan until cool.
