Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 5 eggs

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Melt the butter and chocolate in a sauce pan over low heat. Set aside to cool.
  3. In a large bowl with an electric mixer (or in a stand mixer), beat the eggs, sugar, and vanilla on medium speed for 10 minutes.
  4. Blend in the chocolate mixture, flour, and salt until just mixed.
  5. Pour into greased 9x13 pan.
  6. Bake 35-40 minutes. Do not overbake. Cool in the pan.
  7. Top with powdered sugar or frosting if desired.
