Lentil Sloppy Joes

A grown-up version to the sloppy joe
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef or 1 lb ground turkey
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cloves minced garlic
2 cups water
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/2 cup dried lentils, rinsed
1/2 cup ketchup
1 teaspoon cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
6 -8 hamburger buns
Directions:
1. Cook beef, onions, and garlic in large skillet over medium heat until no longer pink.
2. Drain.
3. Add water, tomato sauce, lentils, ketchup, vinegar, mustard and pepper.
4. Bring to a boil.
5. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 60-70 minutes till lentils are tender.
6. Serve on buns.
