Ingredients:
4 cup(s) water
4 cup(s) chicken broth
2 cup(s) lentils green or black best
2 teaspoon(s) olive oil
2 small yellow onions/1 large chopped
2 carrots chopped
1 large rosemary sprig chopped
2 clove(s) garlic chopped
1/2 pound(s) turkey sausage (1 hot/1 mild) remove casings
1 tablespoon(s) tomato paste
salt & pepper to taste
1/2 head(s) kale chopped
Directions:
1. Combine water, broth, and lentils in a large saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer. Cook 30 minutes or until almost tender.
2. Heat oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion, carrot, rosemary, and garlic to pan. Sauté 10 minutes or until tender. Add sausage; cook 5 minutes, stirring to crumble. Add tomato paste and remaining ingredients; cook for 1 minute or until heated. Add sausage mixture to lentils; bring to a boil. Cook 30 minutes or until lentils are tender.
