Another topping for Christmas Pudding. This is also Grandma's recipe. She served it in a cream pitcher, hot.
Ingredients:
2 cups hot water
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 lemon, zest of
1 teaspoon butter
3 teaspoons cornstarch, heaping
Directions:
1. Mix cornstarch with a little water for thickening agent.
2. Boil water and sugar 5 minutes, add cornstarch mixture.
3. Cook 8 to 10 minutes, add lemon, zest and butter.
4. Stir until butter melts.
5. Serve at once.
