Lemon Poppyseed Italian Style Cake

Lemon poppyseed cake with an italian touch of ricotta.
Ingredients:
300 gr. ricotta / ricotta
300 gr. zucchero / sugar
300 gr. farina / flour
3 uova / eggs
1 bustina di lievito / baking powder
4 cucchiaini di semi di papavero / tsp poppyseeds
scorza di un limone / zest of 1 lemon
Directions:
1. Amalgamare la ricota con lo zucchero. Aggiungere i tuorli, la scorza di limone ed i semi di papavero. Piano piano incorporare la farina con il lievito. In ultimo unire le chiare montate a neve. In forno a 180° per 40 min
2. Mix the ricotta with sugar.Add the yolks, lemon zest and poppy seeds. Slowly incorporate the flour and baking pwder. Finally fold in egg whites. Bake at 180 C° for 40 min
