The hungarian version of ratatouille
Ingredients:
0,1 kg bacon
1 big onion
4-5 long green peppers or 2-3 california peppers
5 big tomatoes
1 can of thick tomato sauce
5-6 cloves of garlic
paprika
0,2 kg spicy sausage (best is hungarian sausage, but you can use any european- stye spicy smoked sausage that doesnt need more cooking)
Directions:
1. Cut the bacon into small pieces, chop the onions and peppers into thin rings.
2. Boil water and pour t over the tomatoes so you can easily peel them, cut into pieces
3. Put the bacon in a frying pan, cook on low heat for about 2 minutes, add the onions and cook for another 2 minutes, add sliced sausage and 2 tablespoons of paprika
4. Add the peppers, the tomatoes, the tomatosauce and the garlic, cook with a lid on on very low heat for abut 40 minutes until the peppers soften. At the end you can add some sliced frankfurterts.
5. Best served with fresh white bread, but you can use this stew as a pasta- sauce or even a garnish with roasted meat
