LEBANESE MEAT APPETIZER This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Marlin Estate in Heath, Texas in 1998.
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef or lamb
1/2 cup bulgur
1 medium white onion finely chopped
2 tablespoons pine nuts
2 tablespoons parsley dried
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon peanut oil
1/2 teaspoon mint dried
1/4 teaspoon allspice ground
1/4 teaspoon black pepper ground
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon ground
Directions:
1. Combine meat, bulgur, onion, water, parsley, mint, allspice, pepper and cinnamon.
2. Place in food processor and process until doughy.
3. Preheat oven to 350.
4. Lightly oil baking dish and pat half the meat mixture into pan and sprinkle nuts over top.
5. Cover with remaining meat.
6. While still in pan cut mixture into diamond shapes.
7. Brush peanut oil over top and bake 30 minutes.
